I have bird houses that I built last year with a bottom that was exactly the right size for inserting last year, and this year they won't fit in 10 minutes trying. How should I modify the bottoms slightly so that the bottoms come in and out easily?

Note: I built 16 around a new orchard that has lots of grasshoppers and other insects.

Use a hair trimmer. We can NOT answer your question unless we know HOW they are constructed. Also Why they no longer fit may provide another solution. – Alaska Man Apr 4 at 19:13
  • Can you do a step by step with pictures? It sits inside the box like a sink plug does. – a coder Apr 4 at 21:33

It sounds like a wood contraction problem. Can you tell us the general climate/location and the time of year you built them? A picture or two would also help. – Ashlar Apr 4 at 21:40
  • @Ashlar me, or the other person, because sink plugs are very standard since they fit inside the sink drain, not outside. – a coder Apr 4 at 21:43

Sink Plugs? I do not understand what you are doing. No one can help without a better picture/sketch of what you have made. – Ashlar Apr 5 at 2:29
