Many years ago, I installed a countertop & treated it with Ikea's Behandla oil. I see that the current Behandla is listed as "glazing paint" and has a tint. I want to sand out & refinish a couple of spots on the counter. Do I have to remove all the existing finish & start from scratch? I also have an unfinished table I would like to treat to match (not exact match, but similar). What would be the best alternative?

  • Hi, welcome to StackExchange. Just to check, do you have any of the original Behandla left? It doesn't matter how old it is, if it's still fluid it's still usable (even if more syrupy than when new).
