Grow Can I use a grow room air extractor to be used as a dust collector?

I have an air extractor that I used for a grow room and was wondering if I could convert it into a dust collector for the shop.

This is the extractor: https://ventilation-system.com/product/vk-200#characteristic

It is rated for 780m^3/h (459 CFM).

I also have a couple of big 200L (50 gallon) drums and several meters of soft ducting (the silver corrugated type)

I want to hang the extractor from the 3,5m (11.5ft) ceiling and run ductwork down the wall to a 200L (50 gallon) drum (used as a separator), and from there run a flexible hose that I can hook up to different tools as I use them.

Despite the shop's 38 m^2 (409 sq ft) area, I only produce dust in a small section, so I don't really need complicated duct work running to lots of areas.

Is my air extractor suitable for dust collection with this setup or any other setup?

I have an air extractor that I used for a grow room and was wondering if I could somehow use convert it into a dust collector for the shop. I also have a couple of big 200 lts drums and several meters of soft ducting (the silver corrugated one)

everyone.

I have a small shop in my house, about 38 mt2, and I was looking into improving dust collection (sawdust primarily). I have a shop vac that, in all honesty, don't use that often. This is because I also use the vac for the rest of the house and the shop is in the back where there's a strip of soil where grass used to be that I haven't covered yet (but will soon) and I just sweep everthing over there. I built a roof so rain isn't an issue, despite being somewhat exposed to the elements.

Anyway, I was looking into printing a cyclone type thing to use with a 5gl bucket and the shop vac. Last week I finally made an arduino auto switch for the vac so I don't have to remember turning it on and off. (I'm also gonna buy another one for the house so this one stays in the shop)

And last night I remembered that I have an air extractor that I used for a grow room and was wondering if I could somehow use convert it into a dust collector for the shop. I I also have a couple of big 200 lts drums and several meters of soft ducting (the silver corrugated one)

So, using the extractor instead of the vac, and the drums instad of the bucket, could something be built?

The shop vac is 1800w with a 20L body.

So I was thinking maybe hanging the extractor (I built the ceiling high at about 3,5mts from the ground) and running ductwork down the wall to one of the big drums, turning it into a separator, from there run a flexible hose that I can hook up to different tools as I use them.

Despite the shop's 38 mt2m^2 area, I only produce dust in a small section, so I don't really need complicated duct work running to lots of areas.

I will probably still use the shop vac, but I thought maybe I could improve upon the tidyness (or lack there of) of the shop.

Thank you in advenceIs my air extractor suitable for any ideas!dust collection?
